7 fun lockdown activities …share your photo and win!
Fancy winning 10 Hoyts movie passes, 8 My Gym Classes, or $100 to spend at Miracle Supermarket or $100 to spend at Fortune Place Yum Cha restaurant?
Using the Mandarin Centre venues as inspiration, we’d like to see what fun activities your kids and family are getting up to at home, and one of these great prizes could be yours.
Everyone Wins a pass from Strike simply by sharing their activity on Facebook
Whilst many Mandarin Centre venues are currently closed, there is still fun to be had at home! What’s more, if you share your fun at-home activities on our social pages, you or your child will win a 2-4-1 pass (buy one game, get one free) from Strike Bowling for bowling, laser tag or Holey Moley! Simply read on for fun activity ideas direct from our own retailers and venues!
1. My Gym Kid’s Online Class
The Mandarin Centre’s My Gym venue has created a fun online class for the kids to try at home! It will give you a little down time, while the kids bop and bounce, giggle and squeal, and even get some indoor exercise! Kids will participate in a 15 minute program of physically engaging activities run by Coach Daisy and Coach Andreas. Take some pics or videos and put them on our FB Post for your chance to win one of the big prizes, including 8 free classes from My Gym valued at $300! Speak to My Gym about a complimentary trial class.
2. Set up your own Strike Bowling
As we can’t get in to Strike right now for our regular dose of fun, how about we set up our own bowling lanes at home? Mums and dads vs the kids for a little healthy family competition?
Setting up at home
Collect 10 stray plastic bottles – or try using milk cartons, juice cartons, water bottles, or whatever you have lying around the house. It’s a lot more fun if they are different shapes and sizes.
Fill them with water – Now you can fill your 10 bottles with water, remembering that the more water you use, the harder it will be to knock the pins over. Why not try adding a drop of food colouring to the clear cartons to add a bit of extra fun?!
Find a ball – any size will work!
Set up the pins – Find a space to set up your fancy pins; somewhere in the garden might be a good starting point. And have fun!
3. Create a Hoyts movie experience at home
If you’re missing that special Hoyts cinema movie experience with friends and family, then how about creating your own movies at home? Have you tried Teleparty? It’s the latest way to watch TV and movies with your friends online. Bring on the popcorn and snacks, dim the lights and interact with your friends while watching your movie. Here are some movies suggestions for you to choose from.
4. Play a game of DIY Laser Tag
If you’d like to recreate a fun version of laser tag, then grab some water pistols , some old clothes and head outside! You can add a little food colouring to your water guns to see if you’ve been hit, and use the trees, walls and bushes to hide behind - but just check with mum first! A park is another possible place to do this activity.
This activity requires plenty of energy, and a lot of laughing! And when lock down is over, check out the real thing again at Strike Laser Tag
5. Set up a fun Holey Moley putt putt course in your home
Holey Moley in the Mandarin Centre has some weird and wonderful courses full of unique photo opportunities, fun and entertainment. If you haven’t tried the real thing, make sure to check it out when the time comes.
In the meantime, let’s set up a course at home. All you need is some golf clubs, maybe dad will let you borrow one of his. You can really use any ball.
The fun part is to set up your crazy course. Decide on a starting point and a finishing point and then create your course using lots of obstacles along the way! You can use lego, duplo, soft toys and cushions. You can create ramps or move the course around furniture tems … just use your imagination.
Then, take a pic and load it on to our facebook post in the comments and you will receive a pass that gives you 2 games of Holey Moley for the price of one! And you’ll go in to the running to win a big prize - like 10 move tickets from Hoyts. So, get inspired, have fun, and let us see what you have created by posting your photo in the comments!!
