Roaming Gnomes of Chatswood

Get the gang together, and come and have some fun in Chatswood. From Friday, May 6 till Sunday, May 29, you and your crew can discover 12 giant inflatable gnomes throughout Chatswood. There'll also be live music sound-tracking your hunt and delicious food from all over the globe to keep you fuelled as you roam for gnomes.

Visitors are encouraged to follow the map of discovery to find all 12 gnomes and take a photo to enter the Roaming Gnomes Competition, with $20,000 in prizes up for grabs, including passes to Hoyts movies and Strike Bowling and Laser tag.

Using QR codes at each gnome location, visitors can access food reviews of Chatswood featured restaurants from leading food bloggers such as Not Quite Nigella, Yukilicious, Nick and Helmi and Tik Tok phenomenon by Nessa Eat. Simone Chua of Amigo & Amigo, part of the design team for the Roaming Gnomes, explains, “Chatswood’s fabulous ethnic diversity inspired the personalities of the gnomes. You have Asian culture, European culture, and while we might not be able to or feel confident to travel to those places at the moment, you can still experience aspects of these cultures in Chatswood through the food trail, and gnome activations.”

Each gnome has its own playful personality, from K-Pop to cosmic, and business to sporty. Meet Albert, the Smart Gnome, at the Mandarin Centre. He’s calm, cool and collected, and now that’s he’s retired, he’s been travelling the world. Scan the QR code next to Albert for more information.

You can also catch a nightly 3D projection on the exterior of The Concourse, courtesy of Hungarian 3D projection-mapping experts Limelight and Ukrainian refugee and animator, Svetlana Reinish.  Adding to the ambience, each Friday night a musician playing world music will entertain the crowd in the Chatswood Live at Night program.

Here’s the map of locations!

Chatswood Nights is all about community, inclusivity, good vibes and even better food. Join the fun this May!
